Action from the Lancashire Junior Cup First Round match played at Shawbridge on the 18th January 1964.
In a very one sided game Chorley cruised through to the Second Round with a 2-0 win, and it would not have been an injustice to the home side had Chorley won by a bigger margin.
Both sets of players found difficulty in keeping a firm foothold on the frozen, uneven ground, but Chorley adapted themselves well to the conditions and always attempted to play constructive football.
Chorley could quite easily have been 3 or 4 goals ahead by the interval, but as it was they had to settle for a 1-0 lead courtesy of a Wroth goal after 35 minutes.
Despite their dominance Chorley had to wait until the 85th minute for their second goal, scored by Jim Farrington - his first senior goal for the club.
